Motor City Wrestling Club (MCWC) is a youth wrestling club affiliated with the Chippewa Valley school district in Macomb County, Michigan. The club offers a structured training environment for young boys and girls from Kindergarten up to eighth grade. Wrestlers are instructed in Folkstyle (high school) wrestling.
All practices are held in the wrestling room of Chippewa Valley High School. 18300 19 Mile Road, Clinton Twp., MI 48038.
MCWC is a non-profit organization and relies 100% on the efforts of volunteers including board members, coaches, and parents.
As a reminder, please have your wrestler wear
appropriate practice attire:
Headgear for ear protection
Wrestlers with braces need a mouthguard
All wrestlers should have regulation short fingernails
Practice clothing MAY NOT have buttons or zippers as it may injure another wrestler or damage the wrestling surface.
Competitive tournaments are run by MYWAY – Michigan Youth Wrestling Association. Tournaments are hosted by various schools throughout the Metro region from late December through March. Tournaments generally take place on Sundays with an occasional Saturday.
Participation in tournaments is optional and is generally based on a wrestler's progression in the sport and interest in competition.
It is generally recommended that all MCWC members wrestle in minimally two to three tournaments a season, as it is the tournaments that most children look forward to.
Motor City Wrestling Club was established in 2001.
